Natural Gas

Meeting Increased Energy Demand

More electricity is being produced by natural gas in the U.S. than ever before. Operating natural gas facilities across the nation, Constellation delivers dependable, lower-emission energy while supporting grid stability. These plants use innovative technologies to increase efficiency, reduce emissions and help meet America's growing energy needs.

Natural gas is an efficient fuel source that helps meet growing energy demand while reducing emissions. Often used to replace older, retiring coal generation plants, many of Constellation's natural gas facilities use innovative technologies. These advanced technologies include combined-cycle gas and steam turbines which maximize efficiency and minimize environmental impact.

At Constellation, we support local communities and causes with charitable giving and sponsorships – typically driven by our employees. In 2025, Constellation contributed a total of $4.5 million in combined company, Foundation and employee contributions. Plus, our employees logged 128,900 volunteer hours in service to our communities.

All Generation facilities employ sophisticated emergency response plans designed to protect public health and safety. Plans are reviewed and approved by state governments and federal regulatory agencies. Emergency planning includes coordination with local and municipal officials, as well as thousands of volunteers and first responders.

To protect the safety and health of our employees, contractors, customers and communities, we have implemented a number of initiatives to promote safe behaviors both on and off the job. These include a safety behavior observation program and focused initiatives on high-risk areas. We offer safety training integrated with leadership development programs for supervisors and managers, as well as new employee orientation. Plus, a safety peer group identifies successful pilot programs and best practices that can then be adopted across the entire organization.

Constellation's natural gas plants deliver dependable, lower-emission energy while supporting grid stability across the nation. These facilities use advanced technology – including high-efficiency turbines and combined-cycle systems at select facilities – to maximize efficiency, reduce emissions and conserve resources. By leveraging clean-burning natural gas, they help transition from older, less efficient generation methods and meet growing energy demand while reducing environmental impact.
