As Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel for Constellation, Matthew Price oversees the company's legal organization and is responsible for the direct management of the legal leadership team. Price serves on the Constellation Executive Committee, which sets strategy and direction for the company.
Constellation is America's largest producer of reliable and clean energy, with more than 55,000 megawatts of generating capacity from nuclear, wind, solar, natural gas, geothermal and hydro assets. The company also serves more than 2.5 million homes, businesses and public sector customers nationwide, including three-fourths of the Fortune 100.
Previously, Price served as executive vice president and general counsel at Constellation. Price joined Constellation from a law firm, where he was co-chair of the Energy Practice and focused on cutting-edge litigation and regulatory matters relating to energy policy. His experience spans issues including electricity market design, carbon regulation, and transmission policy, as well as landmark work defending state programs that support emissions-free nuclear power plants.
Price previously clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, served as a Bristow Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General at the U.S. Department of Justice, and clerked for Hon. Michael Boudin, U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit.
Price has had a longstanding pro bono practice representing asylum seekers and victims of human trafficking. Additionally, Price is on the Constellation Foundation board, which was established to expand the company's philanthropic mission and further its commitment to investing long term in the communities it serves.
Price earned his bachelor's degree and juris doctor from Harvard University. He also holds a PhD in political science from Harvard University.
