In December 2023, Khandpur was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Avient Corporation, a leading provider of specialized and sustainable materials solutions.

Khandpur most recently served as president of the $9 billion Transportation & Electronics business group for 3M, a FORTUNE 200 global corporation operating in the fields of transportation, electronics, worker safety, health care, consumer goods and industry. During his 28-year career with 3M, he held a series of roles with increasing responsibility, including executive vice president, Transportation & Electronics business group, from 2019 to 2021; executive vice president, Electronics & Energy business group, from 2017 to 2019; senior vice president, Research & Development and Chief Technology Officer, from 2014 to 2017, among other roles.

Khandpur is a member of the Dean's Advisory Board, College of Science and Engineering, for the University of Minnesota. He served as a trustee for the University of St. Thomas from 2017 to 2021. He also served as a director for the 3M Foundation from 2012 to 2017 and prior to that was a director for 3M India in 2014.
