BALTIMORE (Dec. 16, 2024) — Constellation (Nasdaq: CEG), the nation’s largest producer of clean, emissions-free energy, announced today it has hired Matthew Price as general counsel, effective December 11, 2024. Price, who clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and most recently served as a partner at Jenner & Block and co-chaired the law firm’s energy practice, will help oversee legal affairs at Constellation.
Price has represented clients on a range of energy policy issues including market design, carbon regulation, transmission policy and other matters before federal and state courts, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Energy, state public utility commissions and other federal agencies.
“Matthew has deep experience litigating and counseling on matters involving energy policy and regulation, including defending state programs that support emissions-free nuclear power plants,” said David Dardis, Executive Vice President, Chief Legal and Policy Officer, Constellation. “I am excited to partner with Matthew and for him to bring his industry expertise to Constellation as we continue to deliver reliable, affordable clean energy to our customers and communities.”
Price will report to Dardis, who will have leadership of both the legal and policy functions at Constellation as part of a broader reorganization announced internally in October. There have been several changes to the roles and responsibilities of Constellation’s executive committee members to best position the company for growth opportunities from rising demand for reliable, clean energy and the burgeoning data economy:
