Ginna Clean Energy Center Helps Pultneyville Fire & Water Rescue Replace Generator with $20,000 Donation 

Ontario, NY (Jan. 29, 2024) – The R.E. Ginna Clean Energy Center has donated $20,000 to Pultneyville Fire & Water Rescue to help the volunteer fire station replace its electric generator.

R.E. Ginna Site Vice President Daren Blankenship said, “While Ginna and our other New York Clean Energy Centers generate clean carbon-free, always-on nuclear power to a combined equivalent of more than two million upstate homes, we understand there can occasionally be localized power outages, particularly during bad weather. We’re glad to help Pultneyville Fire & Water Rescue secure a new generator to make sure their firehouse never goes dark.”

The new generator is expected to be installed at the station this spring.

“This donation from Constellation’s Ginna Clean Energy Center is another demonstration of their commitment to supporting local communities,” said Wayne County Board Chair and Town of Williamson Supervisor, Tony Verno. “The old generator was failing, and we appreciate being able to install a new, reliable system that will benefit our dedicated volunteer firefighters and the communities they serve.”

Pultneyville Fire and Rescue is located about six miles from Ginna Clean Energy Center and it helps support the site’s emergency planning and readiness.
