Providing Peak Power with Flexible Generation
Clean natural gas is the primary fuel for our dual-fuel generation units, and when market conditions shift, the ability to seamlessly switch fuels ensures uninterrupted, reliable power. Owned and operated by Constellation, Perryman Generating Station is a five-unit, 404-megawatt (MW) electric generation facility located in Aberdeen, Maryland.
Four of the units at Perryman are oil-fueled combustion turbines that provide quick-start capability during high-demand periods. The fifth unit is fueled by natural gas and was added to the plant in 1995 – enhancing flexibility, efficiency and reliability for peak energy demand periods.
