Daniel L. Eggers

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Daniel L. Eggers is the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Constellation. In this role, he is responsible for leading the execution of all financial activities for the Constellation business. He serves on the Constellation Executive Committee, which sets strategy and direction for the company.

Constellation is the nation’s largest supplier of clean energy with more than 32,400 megawatts of generating capacity from nuclear, wind, solar, natural gas and hydro assets. The new, publicly traded company will produce about 10 percent of America’s carbon-free energy, making it a leader in addressing the climate crisis and an indispensable partner to businesses and state and local governments with its carbon-reduction goals.

Professional background

Previously, Eggers served as senior vice president of Corporate Finance for Exelon Corporation, where he led Exelon’s management of investor relations, treasury, corporate planning, corporate financial operations, and insurance.  He and his team served as a key interface between Exelon and the financial community, including investors and rating agencies, and were responsible for communicating the company’s financial, strategic, operation and regulatory goals and results.

Eggers joined Exelon in 2016 as senior vice president of investor relations.  In that role he developed and managed strategy and message content for external financial communications including earnings materials and other investor presentations.  He served as the primary interface with Exelon’s institutional investors and 21 sell-side analysts. In 2018, Eggers was named a top IR professional in the utilities sector by Institutional Investor.

Prior to joining Exelon, Eggers was a managing director at Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking division, based in New York. Eggers served as a member of the Equity Research department where he covered regulated utility, integrated power and independent power producer stocks, including Exelon. He also served as co-head of U.S. Energy Research and had macro coverage responsibilities for the power sector as well as wind energy and carbon policy.  Over his 18-year career at Credit Suisse, Eggers also held roles including senior coverage responsibility in the oilfield service and equipment sector and served as an associate on the integrated oils and independent refiners group. Eggers was a top ranked analyst in the Institutional Investor Poll and, the Bloomberg/Greenwich Associate poll, and received awards for stock picking and estimate accuracy from Starmine. In 2008, he was awarded the Farsight Award for outstanding long-term and extra financial investor research.

Earlier in his career, Eggers covered fifteen companies within the Institutional Investor and Greenwich ranked oil service and equipment team. When he joined Credit Suisse in 1997, he was an associate on the top ranked integrated oils and independent refiners group.

Community work

Eggers serves on the board of directors of ROCA Baltimore, an organization focused on disrupting incarceration, poverty and racism by engaging the young adults, police and systems at the center of urban violence in relationship to address trauma, find hope and drive change.

Educational background

Eggers received a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Texas Christian University and received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2000.

Eggers lives in Baltimore, MD with his wife, son and two dogs.
