Exelon Statement on the Select Committee’s plan for Climate Crisis

As the nation’s largest producer of emissions-free energy, Exelon applauds the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis for their work on an ambitious plan that recognizes the urgent need to address climate change. Exelon is committed to working with all stakeholders to advance smart measures, like carbon-pricing and clean electricity standards, that can improve public health, contribute to an economic recovery, and help us transition to a clean energy future. The Select Committee also correctly identifies the harmful consequences of the minimum offer price rule in PJM – higher utility bills and interference with state clean energy policies – that must be addressed. We look forward to engaging with all interested parties on both near-term and comprehensive policies to confront the challenge of climate change.
